It's true that we all fall down from time to time. It's never any fun being the one who's face down on the carpet begging God to take away whatever is tormenting us. It hurts feeling alone. But the truth is, we ALL struggle. We ALL have set backs from time to time. As Christians I think it's tough to admit we struggle with certain things...especially with mental illness. There is a stigma that we cannot escape. It is often looked upon as weakness or some type of character defect. It's true that is how I have looked upon it...in the past. Not any more. It's not how long we're at our rock bottom that matters, it's how we pick ourselves back up! That's what people see and that's how we as Christians can witness to other people. We need to show them how God can help us walk again after we've fallen down so far! Besides, these set backs are only set ups for a come back!
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him." John 9:3
