Like Father, Like Son

Well, well...well.  I'm thinking I may have started a trend with these 'Roy Family Firsts'.  We have added another first to what I hope will be our last.  Although, I'm quite sure that's just wishful thinking.  The weather has been just beautiful, we've been sending our children out to play fairly often.  It wasn't very long after they went out to play on Saturday when Ethan came knocking at the door with a few tears staining his cheeks.  He explained how he was swinging on the tire swing when it accidentally hit the tree and caused him to fall off.  His foot was throbbing, but we thought he may have just hit it pretty hard.  The  next morning his foot was still hurting and could hold no weight.  Mike, having broken numerous bones in his foot, knew what to look for.   My fears were confirmed when the doctor announced Ethan had broken 3 bones in his foot.  I still can't believe he wasn't howling in pain!  Thankfully, he's now good to go with a walking boot and crutches.  He's pretty excited to have the new gear.  The only bad part...no basketball for 6 weeks.

  1. Poor guy! That sucks, but it sounds like he was a trooper. That last picture is just pitiful and he looks so broken hearted about not being able to play. Get well soon Ethan!
