Tell Me I'm Not Alone!

It's one of my all-time favorite songs and over the years has become my personal theme song. Every year...several times a year I do it to myself. I completely overload my brain, my schedule, and my to-do list. Excuse me, while I get some things off my chest. Ahem...yesterday after a very successful yard sale Mike and I sat in the garage EXHAUSTED!! Our week had consisted of 5 12 hour work days for Mike (which means over-time for me), 3 different appointments, 1 case of strep throat, 1 baby who has mastered the art of climbing on the table, 1 baby who has decided she wants to be back in utero...all on top of the normal meals, laundry, school, homework and housework. Ya see where I'm going with this...I'm overwhelmed just typing it!!! Not only is there always a lot to do, but I'm ALWAYS in a hurry to do it (usually because I'm running behind schedule...the schedule that I made)! Most of our controlled chaos cannot be avoided, like the above mentioned, but somehow I always manage to make things a tad more stressful. Sometimes it's simply by deciding to make an extra complicated meal to impress Mike...other times I decide to wash every single item of cloth that is going to be in a garage sale. Go figure. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Well there you have it folks...I'm insane.

  1. I must be insane too; But, hey, through it all...you handle it gracefully and you make "insane" absolutely beautiful. Deployments are tough but so are the doldrums and thankless routines of everyday life. If I haven't said it lately, I sure want to thank you for everything that you do for our family. Thanks for being an amazing person.
