What a beautiful and most perfect of days! I awoke to a delicious breakfast in bed complete with flowers, Dunkin Donuts coffee, a full breakfast that even included chocolate covered strawberries! Yu-mmy! My children presented me with homemade picture frames and cards. (Homemade gifts are the best, in my humble opinion.) They were all so very proud of their work. The look of anticipation was priceless! I really try and treasure these moments as they are growing up so quickly. As we all tasted the goodness on my plate, they informed me of my
BIG present. Mike, with the help of 10 additional little hands, had built me a garden! An actual raised bed!!! Remember I had spoken a while back of starting small because I was not-so-sure of myself. Thankfully, everything is still living and I was ready to move up in the gardening world! I just hadn't had the chance to dig in nor did I really know how exactly to do it. So thank you Mike for being so thoughtful and knowing exactly what my heart desired!!! I can't wait to get to plantin!
Like I said, homemade gifts are often the best! Happy Mother's Day to you all. My prayer is that your life is filled with as much love and laughter as mine.
**On a side note. When I opened my husband's card, I burst into tears. I felt as though he must have contacted Hallmark himself and explained our lives because these words could not have been more perfect.
"Someday, many years from now, we'll look back
on this crazy time in our life together
and wonder how we did it all...
I'll sit close beside you and take your hand in mine.
We'll look at each other and say
I'd do it all again...and I wouldn't change a thing."
Here's hoping we have a harvest! I forgot to mention we planted cucumbers, squash, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes and strawberries! We shall see : )
Aww sounds like you had a wonderful mother's day!! Love the card he gave you! :)
