A Storm is Coming

"Who else has held the ocean in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?" Isaiah 40:12

I read a passage in Isaiah containing this verse a while back and for some reason this particular verse was placed on my heart today. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why...why THIS verse?! It seemed so strange and yet it weighed so heavily on my mind.

As this deployment is nearing an end, I have taken time to reflect on these past several weeks and all the craziness that seemed to move in as Mike temporarily moved out. If only I had a penny for every tear shed and a nickle for every moment spent on my knees. How about some dimes for all the hours I've felt lonely. I don't quite know what I would do with all that money, but I can assure you I would a very wealthy woman. That is when I realized why this verse was impressed so heavily upon me...I have been trying to single-handedly carry the weight of my world upon my shoulders. Some may think this may be the normal stress of every Mother, but it doesn't have to be. God tells us we can cast all our anxieties upon Him because He cares (1 Peter 5:7). Yes, I have asked Him for strength, guidance and even wisdom...but not once did I ask Him to please just carry me through these storms.
