The Missing Piece

He's baaaaack! I'm thrilled, the children are thrilled, even our dog is beside himself! Although, the pick-up didn't go as I had planned.... For the first time in our military career the jet was set to arrive on schedule and also for the first time I was set to arrive on schedule. I had everyone loaded up looking oh-so-cute! I had made "welcome home" shirts for each child and on the back they all had a letter spelling D-A-D-D-Y (that's one perk of having so many kids! HA!) and each of my girls had matching hair bows. Needless to say, I was feeling pretty good...even the rainy weather wasn't touching my mood! THEN...my directions turned out to be wrong, so I got turned around...3 times. THEN...the little girls pulled out their hair bows. There they sat looking as though I had styled their hair into mini mohawks. THEN...as I'm unloading everyone I get a text saying the men had already unloaded and Mike was told we were on our way. So now at this point it's safe to say I didn't know whether to cry or throw up. All my hard work down the potty! I was so looking forward to all of us watching him take his first step off the jet! It's such an emotional high!! But I did the next best thing...I hurried the kids out of the truck and said "Someone grab a baby!!!!" So, although disheveled we quickly made our way into the hanger to welcome home our missing piece! After that...nothing else mattered!!!
