A Not-So-Wimpy Birthday Celebration

Yes...it's true.  My Ethan actually turned 10 in August, but because of circumstances beyond our control we had to postpone his celebrations.  So...last night we had a not-so-wimpy birthday party for my boy.  I have to admit, it was a little strange planning a party for big kids.  I'm so used to theme oriented foods, cutie pie decorations with lots and lots of streamers; not this time.  This time I was preparing for house full of 10 year old boys.  While I still was able to decorate and play some games, they were all "big kid" friendly.  I even overheard a couple kids say this was the best party ever.  That was music to my ears.

We played the Guess Who; Name Game.  I taped a character's name to their back and they had to figure out who they were by only asking yes or no questions.  They all had a big time with this one.  It cracked them up!
Even though I didn't make this cake, I was pretty tickled with how it came out.  I drew the Wimpy Kid and had Publix make a 'book cake' and put Gregg as the cover.
 Ethan was surprised!
The gift bags...which all contained one of the Wimpy Kid books.
Here's the crew all settled down for the night.  Surprisingly enough, we all slept.
